Uncle Tim calligraphy

Updated: Feb 17, 2018

Uncle Tim started his stall at the bottom of Upper Lascar Row after the end of the war. He is a registered optician and has been selling glasses, lighters and pens all these years. Since his stall is quite hidden below the stairs it’s not easy to find. Quite often he would place his goods on the side of the stairs and attract prosecution from the Food and Hygiene Department. It has not been easy but Uncle persisted and every year just before Chinese New Year, he would write the traditional good luck calligraphy for customers. Although he is over 90 years old, you can tell his skills are spectacular. Come and have a chat with uncle, he would love that.
