Although I know nothing much about Tsuen Wan but I heard there is an old shop around so with curiosity, I arrived at an atmospheric Shanghainese style barber shop. Mr Chan, the owner, started off in China and moved to HK in the 50s and started the barber shop. The chairs in the shop are neatly lined with bamboo cover and are really comfortable. The barbers are dressed in short white robe, friendly and chatty and their cutting and shaving skills are immaculate. Sadly, this kind of pampering at the old style barber shop is fast disappearing, younger generation looks for speed when having their hair cut, only the older generation can truly appreciate this unique culture. #shanghaibarber
