Sammy Photo Studio (previously Jim Jim Studio). When I was a child, visiting the photographer to have a family portrait taken was quite an event. I remember we would all climb up a steep flight of stone stairs to get to the studio. When i visited the studio recently, it was like i'd gone back in time. Everything looked just the same. The owner Mr Lam is a very funny man. He uses needle thin pencils to touch up photos to hide any blemishes. It can take him hours to perfect the photo. When customers praise him on his technique, you can tell how proud this makes him. Just like many of these old establishments in HK, Jim Jim is now at risk of having the building landlord reclaim the premises for redevelopment. Perhaps a miracle will save this beautiful place. #sammyphoto
