Repairing clothes for 70 years and still going strong

Writer: ChristinaChristina

The story of Uncle Lee touches my heart. At 13, Uncle Lee originally started learning from his Dad how to repair clothes, but 2 1/2 years on, he was training to become an apprentice electrician when his Dad died from an accident, and destiny took him on a different path. At 16, being the eldest child in the family he suddenly found himself having to take on the responsibility of looking after 6 siblings and his Mum. And so he took on his Dad's little alleyway stall. Now at 84, he is still working and feels proud to have been able to raise a family of a son and two daughters. The amazing story of our old generation.
