Established 1900

Sze Cheung has a stunning history dating back to 1900. The woodblock shop is currently run by its 3rd and 4th generation owners, Gordon Ho and his son, Louis. Sze Cheung specialises in hand-made woodblock pulleys, which were used in many of the ships frequenting Hong Kong waters over the years.  These days, they still make pulleys - Hong Kong's lifeboat service uses them - but they’ve evolved the business to also focus on wooden electricity boards, auction house and massage hammers, and the most popular item today - semi-circular wood blocks for supporting Hong Kong's air conditioning units.
